Office of Sustainability

We are a group of teens that are working as interns for the Offices of Sustainability. We go around and audit office buildings to check and see if the offices are using energy efficient and environmentally friendly by means of conducting their work days.

First, we email offices and ask them if we can come and audit their office. Then, they contact us giving us permission to do so.

Next, we take a visit to the office and we use a check list to see if the office is environmentally friendly. The check list consists of energy, efficiency, recycling, etc. We then present them with a PowerPoint showing them how to be environmentally friendly. Our PowerPoint tells you what kinds of light bulbs to use and what temperatures to use during the seasons.

Our goal is to make office buildings realize the importance of their actions. One reason we want to persuade office buildings is because they are energy hogs. Did you know that 39% of our energy is used up by office buildings? By using the methods in our PowerPoint it can help cut down the percentage of energy used by these office buildings.

Here are some resources you may want to look at.
